About the Role

PruittHealth is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) Assistant Director of Nursing for our Hospice program within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this key leadership role, you will support the Director of Nursing in overseeing all aspects of hospice clinical operations, ensuring that compassionate, patient-centered care is consistently delivered in accordance with regulatory standards, organizational policies, and evidence-based best practices. You will provide direct clinical oversight to interdisciplinary hospice care teams, including RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and other caregivers, guiding them in developing and implementing individualized care plans that honor patient choices, manage complex symptoms, and support families throughout the end-of-life journey. Drawing on your hospice and leadership experience, you will help coordinate admissions, evaluate patient eligibility, monitor clinical outcomes, and participate in regular case conferences to maintain high standards of quality and continuity of care. You will mentor nursing staff through coaching, performance feedback, and ongoing education, helping to build a culture of clinical excellence, dignity, and respect that reflects PruittHealth’s mission and values. This position involves active collaboration with physicians, social workers, chaplains, and therapists to ensure holistic care, as well as clear communication with patients and their families regarding care goals, changes in condition, and available support services. You will assist in managing staffing schedules, supervising documentation for accuracy and timeliness, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives, audits, and compliance activities related to hospice regulations and accreditation requirements. As RN Assistant Director of Nursing, you will also participate in orientation and training programs for new team members, help identify professional development needs, and support implementation of PruittHealth’s clinical training resources and evidence-based protocols. You will play a visible role in promoting a safe work environment, supporting infection control practices, medication safety, and risk management processes specific to hospice care delivered across home, facility, and community-based settings. This leadership opportunity is ideal for an experienced hospice RN who is passionate about end-of-life care, values interdisciplinary teamwork, and is eager to grow within a family-owned organization that invests in its people through supportive career development and comprehensive training.
