Assistant Director Of Nursing
Centers Health Care
Rochester, New York, US
About the Role
Centers Health Care is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Assistant Director of Nursing to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this key leadership role, you will support the Director of Nursing in overseeing day-to-day clinical operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced healthcare environment. You will provide direct supervision to nursing staff, help coordinate interdisciplinary care, and promote a culture of safety, accountability, and excellence in all aspects of clinical practice.
As the Assistant Director of Nursing, you will collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, social workers, and other members of the care team to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the medical and psychosocial needs of our patients and residents. You will monitor clinical outcomes, guide staff in evidence-based practice, and play an active role in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives. Your leadership will help ensure compliance with all state, federal, and accreditation standards, including infection prevention, documentation requirements, and resident rights.
Key aspects of this role include participating in the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development of nursing staff; creating and managing fair and effective staffing schedules; conducting performance evaluations; and addressing performance or practice concerns in a timely and professional manner. You will help lead staff education efforts, including competency assessments, in-service training, and implementation of new clinical protocols or technologies. You will also assist with investigating incidents, managing risk, and implementing corrective action plans to enhance patient safety and clinical outcomes.
Centers Health Care fosters an inclusive and welcoming culture that encourages collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation. While we are a leading name in healthcare and medical services, we embrace a forward-thinking mindset similar to top technology organizations, integrating new tools and systems to strengthen care delivery and operational efficiency. Our diverse team works together to drive positive change for our patients, their families, and the communities we serve.
At Centers Health Care, employees can thrive in an environment where creativity and initiative are highly valued. As Assistant Director of Nursing, you will have opportunities for professional growth through leadership development, clinical education, and participation in organization-wide projects aimed at improving care quality and patient experience. You will be encouraged to contribute ideas, help shape clinical policies and workflows, and mentor emerging leaders within the nursing department.
This position is primarily on-site within our healthcare facilities, requiring a visible and engaged leadership presence on the units. The ideal candidate is an experienced Registered Nurse with strong clinical judgment, proven supervisory skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for mentoring others. You should be comfortable balancing hands-on clinical support with administrative responsibilities, including documentation review, reporting, survey readiness, and participation in meetings and committees.
Centers Health Care offers a competitive compensation package along with comprehensive benefits that may include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement savings options such as a 401k plan. If you are a mission-driven nursing leader who thrives in a collaborative, high-impact environment and is committed to advancing the quality of care, we invite you to consider this opportunity to grow your career as an Assistant Director of Nursing with Centers Health Care.
