Assistant Controller – Manufacturing

Our client, a global manufacturing organization, is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to support plant-level financial reporting, compliance, and operational performance. This role partners closely with the Controller and plays a key part in month-end close, financial planning, and maintaining a strong internal control environment.
Key Responsibilities for Assistant Controller- Lead the monthly general ledger close and reconciliation process
- Prepare accurate financial statements, forecasts, and performance reports
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Ensure completion of financial control procedures and maintain audit/SOX readiness
- Identify cost‑savings opportunities and promote best practices across the site
- Support internal and external audits
- Develop tools and reporting to enhance financial insight and operational decision-making
- Uphold strong compliance with corporate policies, ethics, and financial standards
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of accounting/finance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong background in cost accounting, financial reporting, and financial analysis
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local financial regulations
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available)
- Ability to meet export‑controlled information access requirements
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Effective communication and leadership abilities
- Experience with SOX compliance
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- ERP system experience
