Accredited Medical Assistant Certified

Join a dedicated healthcare team supporting both administrative and clinical needs of physicians and licensed medical staff in a busy outpatient podiatry and foot & ankle specialty clinic. This role involves assisting with patient vital signs, updating medical records, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain patient confidentiality, dignity, and well-being at all times.
  • Accurately document patient care and interactions during visits and phone communications.
  • Collect and process point-of-care, laboratory, and pathology samples following established protocols.
  • Perform quality and safety checks on waived testing equipment and supplies.
  • Provide patient education under provider guidance.
  • Administer treatments, dressing changes, medications, and therapies as ordered by licensed providers.
  • Assist providers during procedures and examinations, including setup and chaperoning.
  • Prepare reusable instruments for sterilization and manage biohazard and pharmaceutical waste disposal per OSHA guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and safe patient care environment by adhering to infection prevention standards.
  • Manage supply inventory in designated clinical areas.
  • Perform front desk duties such as greeting patients and scheduling appointments.
  • Support billing and coding processes by assisting with ICD and CPT coding entries.
  • Coordinate with external healthcare partners to facilitate patient care plans.
  • Monitor and respond to electronic communications in a timely manner.
  • Conduct components of well visits or physicals as directed.
  • Complete all required documentation prior to provider visits.
  • Perform high-level disinfection procedures as required.
  • Flexibly float to other clinics as needed.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program with successful completion of a nationally recognized certification exam (e.g., CMA, RMA, CCMA).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
  • Preferred: Minimum of 1 year clinical experience in an outpatient setting.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to recognize and respond to life-threatening situations and activate emergency services.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and providers both in person and via phone.
  • Physical ability to perform clinical tasks including standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
  • Comfortable with potential exposure to blood or infectious materials.
