About the Role Senior Software Engineer, Cloud – remotely within the U.S., working on a modern SaaS platform that improves the health and well‑being of users in over 49 countries. You will lead technical initiatives, design scalable, highly available, and secure cloud solutions for our medical device SaaS. Responsibilities Learn and improve our existing Go‑based health care platforms. Design and implement services and components utilizing Go for cloud‑based platforms. Develop high‑volume, low‑latency services for a global health care platform. Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop and integrate APIs that empower users to share and utilize their medical data in partner systems. Design unit‑testable, highly maintainable code. Work with InfoSec to design and implement secure solutions. Shape and define API contracts with cross‑functional teams. Provide ideas and insights in collaboration with the data services team. Maintain performance, uptime, and scalability, upholding high code quality and thoughtful design. Contribute to architectural and operational decisions with the Architecture team. Build internal tooling and APIs to streamline engineering processes. Implement systemic changes to align existing systems with current architectural goals. Create diagrams, flowcharts, and models that illustrate the design and workflow of solution components. Participate in agile ceremonies, delivering features through development, testing, and delivery. Engage in technical planning, design, and code reviews, including peer pull‑request reviews. Stay current with emerging trends and recommend innovations to help the organization evolve. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 5+ years of professional software development experience in an Agile environment, including technical residency programs. Experience designing data and database models using SQL Server, Postgres, or similar technologies. Strong Go development experience – idiomatic Go, concurrency (goroutines, channels), and best practices. Experience architecting highly available and maintainable systems. Experience implementing high‑complexity asynchronous messaging and backend processing jobs. Practical knowledge of RESTful APIs and microservices. Ability to work well in a high‑performance team. Comfortable with asynchronous collaboration in a distributed environment. Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills. Willingness to learn new programming languages to meet goals and objectives. Strong computer science fundamentals. Eagerness to contribute beyond the experience level. Preferred Practical Linux knowledge. Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or other container services. Open‑source software development experience. Experience with relational data stores such as SQL Server or PostgreSQL. Experience using Confluence and JIRA.
